I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s something about June that makes me antsy. That sounds a little odd, I know, but it’s true.
It hasn’t always been like that; I think it’s safe to say that the June antsiness started in college. Spring semester was long over, and I’d traditionally gotten into my summer rut of working back home. And I needed something to spice things up.
June became the month that I got an extra piercing (or two). It was the month that I decided to fly through the air with the greatest of ease. And it was about this time last year that I got my tattoo.
This year, I can already feel the antsiness settling in again, quickly becoming a constant state. But I’m not quite sure what to do.
- Another piercing? I’d want my eyebrow, but I think the combination of my age and job negates that as a viable option.
- Another tattoo? Eventually, definitely, but I can’t decide what and where.
- Another flight through the air? I have always wanted to try skydiving. But not on my own.

It looks almost peaceful here...
So, enlighten me, what do you recommend for a summer adventure? Even a mini one.
I’m open to suggestions.
And possibly a partner in crime.

Hmmm….I was going to recommend maybe a new hairdo? I know, I can be such a girl sometimes.
Totally legit! In fact, one of my college friends told me that that’s what she has in mind. Great minds and all that.
Umm, eyebrow piercings put me off, but that is just me. However, I will join you for new ink and or skydiving!
I think it’s too late to get anything on my face anyway. But the other two…it’s on.
I’m pushing for white water rafting… we went in Costa Rica and it was THE AWESOME.
Ooh, yeah, that would be a LOT of fun. Especially with a big group.
I’m in a similar spot. Skydiving is still in the plans but not until I can go back to Cali, as I just can’t think of another place that will be as good.
I was toying with a nose piercing, but lately I’m kicking around the idea of going hang gliding in NC instead. Sounds much more exciting to me.
Hang gliding would be super fun. I saw people doing it at the Outer Banks a few years ago, but I was too chicken to do it then.
I’m also kicking around a nose piercing. I just got my second tat a few months ago, and of course I want another like, right now. Of course as I get older, I start to stray from wanting more visible piercings to ones that are not so visible.
I know that feeling. As soon as I got my first tat, I knew I’d want another. And I felt the same way when I got my first piercing. There are only so many hidden places though…
WV isn’t very far and there are TONS of outdoor adventure-y things to do there!
I smell a camping trip…
I agree with jp about the eyebrow piercing thing.
Duly noted.
I took a road trip two weekends ago to a Sonic- that’s always a good time. Find a Sonic in some interesting sleepy town and go on a road trip!
That sounds like an excellent idea. I have to say I’ve never been to one…
Patrick’s idea is brilliant. But if you go, and find one, you have to, have to, have to make a Sonic drive-thru video with a friend.
Well, if I have to…
ohmygawdIfuckingloveSonic.
That does seem to be the general consensus.
im with marie, i say new hairdo!
NO eyebrow piercing.
