Today is a good day.
Why? Because I get to wear jeans to work today! (I know, I know, it doesn’t take a whole lot to make me happy.)
Yes, many offices have casual Fridays, but mine, or rather, my specific project within the entire office, doesn’t. When I first interviewed with HR I was told, “Dress code around here is business casual, and then we have casual Fridays. Oh, except for your project. El Jefe wants you all in business attire during the week, and then business casual on Fridays.”
I have to say, I didn’t really care at first. Rules like that meant I needed more business clothes which, loosely translated, means “road trip to the outlets!” And I never thought I’d get jealous (only moderately, I swear) when everyone else in the office showed up in denim. But I did.
So now? When El Jefe is out of the office and I get to participate in casual Fridays? It makes me smile.
And if the simple fact that it’s Friday isn’t enough, here’s something else to entertain you (I can already tell I’m going to be so productive today):
